Useful advice starts with the room

Emily May Designer publishes independent home editorial guides. Articles are organised around a practical task: arranging a living room, choosing bedroom textiles, fitting a dining table or finding useful storage. We explain compromises as well as attractive possibilities so a reader can decide what fits their own home.

Evidence and product mentions

General decorating guidance is editorial judgement. Specific product details should come from current manufacturer or retailer information, and readers should confirm those details before buying. We do not invent measurements, performance results, certifications, prices or customer experiences.

Unless an article explicitly describes a documented test, our buying advice is based on selection criteria and published information rather than hands-on testing. We do not claim to have slept on, installed or lived with a product merely because it appears in a guide.

Images and publication dates

Room photographs illustrate a mood, layout or furnishing idea. They do not imply that the publication designed the room or owns the products shown. A photographed object may differ from a retailer example discussed in the text.

Publication and updated dates are displayed with articles. A date does not guarantee that every merchant detail remains current. Material corrections or substantive revisions should be reflected in the updated date.

Commercial transparency

Shopping links are ordinary retailer links at launch and do not currently generate commission. If an affiliate or sponsored relationship is introduced, it will be disclosed on the affected content before the first commercial call to action. Commercial enquiries do not entitle a business to positive coverage or approval of editorial conclusions.

Corrections and reader concerns

If you find an inaccurate statement, contact hello@emilymaydesigner.com with the article address and a supporting source where possible. Corrections should address the substance of an error rather than silently preserve a misleading impression.

We do not present Emily May Designer as a professional design practice or invent a named author's qualifications. For property-specific or safety-critical questions, readers should consult an appropriately qualified professional.
